One of the main benefits of Glenmalure Pines is its seclusion. There is a train station in the local town, Rathdrum, but we really do not recommend that you stay without a car. There are links to the main car hire firms on our links page.

Signposting in Ireland is interesting but has been much improved around Rathdrum. The preferred local signposts are the "signs around a post" style which make perfect swings and therefore rarely point in the right direction. We would therefore recommend a decent driving map. The car hire firms give out free ones and there are maps in the cabin provided that they haven't be accidentally returned with the last car hire (we do try to keep up!).
